Minor Illness Visits

As a mobile practice, we may not be able to see all types of sick appointments due to the nature of the practice. We strive to accommodate minor illness appointments for both new and established clients as much as possible. These are the types of minor conditions that we can reasonable expect to manage and treat in your home:

General appearance: Mild lethargy with normal mentation, mild weight loss, etc.

Eyes: Redness, swelling, clear/mucoid discharge, tearing, cloudiness, etc.

Ears: Scratching/itchiness, excessive debris, redness, discharge, pain, etc.

Nose/upper respiratory tract: Sneezing, nasal discharge, congestion, etc.

Skin: Itchiness, hair loss, lumps & bumps, mild wounds without excessive bleeding, etc.

Urinary: Urinating outside of the litter box, frequent urination, blood in the urine, straining to urinate, etc.

Gastrointestinal tract: Mild vomiting, mild diarrhea and soft stools, changes in appetite, constipation, etc.

Musculoskeletal: Chronic mobility issues due to aging and suspected osteoarthritis/degenerative joint disease. See Solensia for more details.

Behavior: Fear and anxiety, stress, aggression, other behavioral changes, etc.

We CANNOT see the following:

General appearance: Severe lethargy and/or severe weight loss with significant dehydration should be referred to urgent or emergency care.

Lower respiratory tract: Coughing and wheezing unless already diagnosed with feline asthma using x-rays previously. Labored breathing should be referred to urgent or emergency care.

Cardiovascular: Exercise intolerance, collapse, exacerbation of known heart disease/failure, etc. Collapse and severe lethargy should be referred to urgent or emergency care.

Neurologic: Seizures, ataxia (wobbliness), changes in mentation, etc.

Musculoskeletal: Significant trauma or injuries, limping, difficulties in standing or walking, etc. We are not able to perform x-rays. Severe injuries should be referred to urgent or emergency care.
